They’reeeeeeeeee back!

American Gladiators are returning to American television January 6th at 9/8 Central to test the physical strength and endurance of everyday, true American heroes -- weekend warriors who excel and take pride in their physical fitness. These contestants will go up against the show's gladiators -- charismatic and eclectic warriors who are bigger and badder than ever -- in the ultimate David & Goliath battle.

Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali host this new NBC TV show based on the traditional franchise that aired from 1989-1997.

Look for such classic events as the Joust, the Wall, Hang Tough and the Eliminator, but don’t expect this to be your daddy’s Gladiator! The show returns with splashy new twists including special effects, water skills and the latest technology so that the classic games now have higher thrills, impact, energy and spectacle.

The contestants include a bull rider from Australia, a Texas Marine sergeant fresh from Iraq, a Texan who lost his home to a hurricane, a Boeing engineer, a professional skateboarder, a former dancer for the New York Knicks, and a high school algebra teacher.

Oh ye-ah, it’s going to be fun watching them get pelted by tennis balls, grapple in hand-to-hand combat on floating platform, swim beneath flames, and burst through a gauntlet of buffed-up gladiators. Can they prevail over these obstacles? Could you? Watching and wondering is half the fun.
