This half-Norwegian, half-Brazilian beauty caught me when neither of us was feeling particularly sexy. In my case, it was the flu. For her, touching down in the states after more than 30 hours of flying around the world. We both mustered the will to perk up and share her story with Savvy readers.

The former Miss Norway grew up on the southwest coast of her country. She started modeling at the age of 14.

We talked about the relaxed attitudes about nudity and how American men differ from the guys over there. We also talked about her sexually adventurous side and how a change of outfits or locations can spice up any romp.

If you are as much of a world traveler as she is, you may have seen her in practically all of the international editions of Maxim and FHM. Stuff Magazine named her to its Top 100 sexiest women. She is scheduled to appear on the cover of People Magazine’s Australian edition as well as in a babe of the month feature in Playboy. Her numerous TV appearances have included Baywatch, Wild on E! and Howard Stern.

Come along as we meet this international beauty…

Savvy: Hi Monica. (Coughs violently) Uhg… Sorry about that. I am a bit under the weather. Not 100 percent. I never thought I'd say this to an insanely sexy woman, but stay away from me.

Monica: (Laughs) That's fine. I’m deliriously tired from jetlag.

Savvy: Oh?

Monica: Yes, I am a little out of it because I just arrived yesterday from Norway. I have been awake for 2 days. It’s a rough time when I travel because the time difference is so off.

Savvy: You travel often in your line of work?

Monica: Yes, and I’m very adventurous anyway. I’m restless, always looking for something. For the last 15 years, I’ve just been traveling. I haven’t really stopped because if I stay in one place for more than a month, I just go crazy. I have to fly or explore, go do something.

Savvy: (Making it sound dirty) Adventurous, eh? Do something, eh? (Coughs for a good 20 seconds) Sorry again. And just when I was being so smooth. So, um, what’s the most adventurous thing you have going on right now?

Monica: I’m talking pilot lessons right now. What I really want to do is jump with a parachute. Once I get the license, I want to fly around and explore places.

Savvy: You looking for a travel companion? You’d make jetlag worth it.

Monica: At this point in my life, I’m not looking for a serious boyfriend. I’m too adventurous to settle down. I don’t think a guy would want to be serious with me right now because I’m all over the place.

Savvy: (Blows his nose) What kind of guy are you looking for a fling with then? Someone snotty? (Laughs)

Monica: I like guys who are a little bit mysterious. I like guys like Johnny Depp that other people might think are strange but he’s secure. That’s the kind of character I fall for. A free spirit.

Savvy: How do American men compare to guys from Norway?

Monica: American men are probably more masculine than Norweigan men. How do I explain it?

Savvy: You're saying they are girly men?

Monica: Men and women are very similar in my country. When it comes to doctor degrees and the government and all that, it’s about 50/50 men and women. Women are not as educated in the U.S. for these jobs as in Scandinavia so men here have more focus on providing for the women and being gentlemen. In Norway, you treat women like they are other guys. Men do not open the door for women and expect women to pay half when they go out to dinner. They don’t buy our drinks. The men also tend to be more feminine in my country. That’s my observation. It’s a positive thing that men in America are more masculine because I like to be pampered.

Savvy: Hot girls from Norway should definitely move to America. Are Norwegians open-minded or prudish?

Monica: People in Norway are very, very liberal about sex. It’s so open there that you can walk around naked and nobody – I mean, it’s completely wrong to say that guys don’t LOOK at you, but they won’t make a big deal. You can go topless at the beach.

Savvy: Wow. (Coughs)

Monica: Guys in Norway are no so much into breasts at all because they don’t associate them with anything sexual.

Savvy: What’s wrong with them? I look at your breasts and even with the flu, I salute you!

Monica: (Laughs) I think the differences in attitude are very interesting.

Savvy: Ever had some American puritan preach at you to put more clothes on?

Monica: I used to live in Florida, and when I first moved there, I took off my top at the beach and I had half the beachgoers staring at me.

Savvy: And you found this surprising?

Monica: It’s a different attitude because people in America aren’t as open about baring the body so that makes you want to want to have it even more psychologically. It was different from what I was used to. I didn’t like people staring at me like that. I usually lay out in a tanning bed because models have to have a tan all over. In Europe, I sunbathe topless if I’m in the mood too.

Savvy: Got pics? (Laughs, then coughs)

Monica: (Laughs politely)

Savvy: Since you are adventurous, does that extend to the bedroom?

Monica: I like to really dress up. I have a weakness for lingerie. I like to have a lot of foreplay with sexy lingerie, candles, you know. Sexy outfits always make sex better. Sexy lingerie is so feminine and makes me feel sexier when I wear it. I think guys like stockings and high heels, all of that.

Savvy: You are making me feel better. Go on…

Monica: I like to experiment with using things all the time. I tend to try new things and new environments. Going to a new place is like role-playing or painting. Just spices it up.

Savvy: Indeed. What’s the sexiest shoot you’ve ever done?

Monica: I was attracted to this photographer once. That felt kind of sexy posing for him.

Savvy: Ever had sex on camera? Isn’t Norway where a lot of porn comes from? Oh wait, no, that’s Amsterdam. Sorry. (Coughs)

Monica: Actually, I had sex with my boyfriend at the time on the roof of this building in Miami. It wasn’t really public but there were apparently security cameras and they had been watching us.

Savvy: And the footage is making the rounds on which website?

Monica: None, I hope. That would definitely be a legal case.

Savvy: Any other adventures with sex and videotape?

Monica: I don’t think I’ve ever done it on camera intentionally, but one of my ex-boyfriends probably has something like that. I haven’t done the Paris Hilton thing.

Savvy: Might be a good career move.

Monica: It might. Paris hasn’t done too bad. (Laughs) No, I wouldn’t consider doing that.

Savvy: Ever been attracted to another woman?

Monica: Yes, I think women are beautiful and sexy. But I am heterosexual.

Savvy: What’s the most romantic thing a guy has done?

Monica: There was one guy who was kinda sweet because I flew to France and was tired from modeling so much. He told me he had to go to a family meeting, but when I arrived at the airport in France, he was there. That was very romantic in a way because it was Paris and there were flowers.

Savvy: Paris and flowers. Guaranteed sex. (Coughs) Unless you are coughing your head off. What’s the best pickup line a guy has used on you?

Monica: I was in the grocery store the other day when this guy tapped on my shoulder. He picked up a piece of paper from the ground and told me I dropped something. I looked at the piece of paper and realized it had all of his information on there. Well thought out and kinda cute.

Savvy: Tell me about your photo shoot with Brie Childers. You were out in the desert, looks like.

Monica: It was kind of a surprise to me because I thought we’d have to go really far out of L.A. but we did not. It was very pretty out there. It was definitely fun and pretty weather.

Savvy: Brie’s pretty awesome too. (Coughs) Where else can readers see you?

Monica: I shoot all of the time. I did the cover of FHM South Africa edition and just had the cover of the Norway edition. I also just shot a TV commercial.

Savvy: Besides modeling, what are your aspirations?

Monica: I actually just started a collection of lingerie. I’m going to do a lot more in my home country. I want to do what I am really passionate about, designing. I also paint as well.

Savvy: Tell me about being Miss Norway.

Monica: I was in 1997. A girlfriend of mine signed me into entering the contest. I did not compete in Miss Universe because I had gallbladder problems. They had to remove my gallbladder.

Savvy: I think I am about to cough mine up.
