Yvette Nelson is a model, actor and singer transplanted from the East Coast to the West Coast of America.

Discovered by a modeling agent at age 15, she was living and working in Japan by the age of 16. She's since done a ton of work, most noticeably an extended campaign promoting make-up and lingerie from Fredrick's of Hollywood. In fact, she's worked with pretty much every major swim wear and lingerie maker there is.

Her magazine appearances include Elle, Vogue, Sport, Fitness, Men's Fitness, Shape, Mademoiselle, Moda and others. She turned down Playboy magazine. You may have seen her in commercials for Maybelline, McDonalds, Burger King, Pringles, Coke, Mountain Dew, Jordache, Taco Bell, KFC, Kellogg's, Nivea, Redken, Herbal Essence, KMS, Miller Beer, Budweiser, Tecate, West Cigarettes, Nike and Orangina to name a few. She's been featured in over 100 calendars and posters, as well as several music videos.

She's also a successful recording artist, now working on a followup to her debut CD "All For The Sake of Love".

She talked to Savvy about her life and loves...

Savvy: Something we found immediately intriguing about you is your celebrity connection.

Yvette: I'm married to Matthew Nelson.

Savvy: One-half of the rock duo identical twins in "Nelson". You're Ricky Nelson's daughter-in-law. The grandchild-in-law of Ozzie and Harriet.

Yvette: Yes. Matthew and I married in 1995. I was really young, but I just knew it was right. He's a great guy.

Savvy: We saw you on a TV show a couple of years ago called "The 40 Hottest Rock Star Girlfriends... and Wives". Matthew's a lucky guy to have you at home. Did you date any other celebrities before him?

Yvette: Yes, a few.

Savvy: Ooh, do tell. Give us the dirt.

Yvette: (Laughs) Sorry, but I don't kiss and tell.

Savvy: This was a great shoot with Brie Childers, very sporty and sexy.

Yvette: Yeah, I loved the location. I loved the clothes and I really loved the photographer. The make-up artist, Teri Groves, called me about doing the shoot, and I wanted to because I loved Brie's work.

Savvy: An athletic girl can be very sexy. Are you a competitive person in real life?

Yvette: Very much so. I love all sports.

Savvy: Modeling can be very competitive also. Would you say that most of your friends are men or other women?

Yvette: Well, I have more female friends, but I actually prefer hanging with guys more.

Savvy: Oh yeah?

Yvette: They're much more easygoing and fun. My best friend growing up was a guy. I was a serious tomboy. My parents were a little freaked out because I was totally not into girl stuff. They thought I was gay for awhile. (Laughs)

Savvy: Well, we know you're spoken for, but what kind of man does a woman like you find attractive?

Yvette: One word -- Confidence.

Savvy: And good looks, right?

Yvette: Yes. I don't know how to describe it exactly. I don't know what it is until I see it. I do have this weird weakness for facial stubble. If a guy's hot and has a little 5 o'clock shadow, it's all over.

Savvy: What's the most romantic thing a guy ever did for you?

Yvette: Ask me to marry him.

Savvy: Do you think it is still realistic for society to expect women to remain virgins until their wedding nights?

Yvette: It wasn't for me. I think it's important to know what's out there. But to each their own.

Savvy: What about monogamy? It is realistic to expect and sustain?

Yvette: It is sustainable if you're with the right person. I do believe that happily ever after is possible. And I believe soul mates exist. A lot of relationships fail because people pick the wrong person to be with, they get bored or they give up too fast.

Savvy: How do you keep monogamy exciting and passionate?

Yvette: Great sex! (Laughs)

Savvy: A lot of women need an emotional connection to have decent sex. Were you like that before you got hitched?

Yvette: How do you mean?

Savvy: Did you have to be in love to get it on?

Yvette: No, but definitely lust. Good sex can just be good sex, but I'd have to be really attracted to the guy.

Savvy: Have you ever cheated on a guy or been cheated on?

Yvette: No and no. I believe that what goes around comes around.

Savvy: If a man had cheated on you, what would it take for you to take him back?

Yvette: A lot. (Laughs) It would depend. It's hard to get trust back once it is lost.

Savvy: Did any of your past boyfriends ever parade you around like a trophy?

Yvette: Yes. And he tried to control where I went and who I talked to. It didn't last.

Savvy: Did you go for bad boys? You did marry a rocker.

Yvette: Maybe a couple of times, but I love nice guys. Intelligence is also a might.

Savvy: You were in the movie Swordfish, right?

Yvette: Yes, with John Travolta, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry.

Savvy: You've also been on the shows "Beverly Hills 90210", "Just Shoot Me!", "Las Vegas", and "Medium". And you played on the Chicago Bliss team during the 2005 Lingerie Bowl. I could do a whole story just listing your resume!

Yvette: (Laughs)

Savvy: What about your own music career?

Yvette: I signed with Transcon Records and had an album out 6 years ago. I'm working on new songs now, but acting is what I'm more focused on these days. It's my first love. Also, I'm working on producing a new swimwear line with a partner, Heather Robinson. It's going to be amazing. I'll keep you posted.

Savvy: You have a very exotic look.

Yvette: I'm a first generation American. I grew up in Long Island, NY until I was 10, then we moved to Los Angeles. I have an older sister and very loving parents.

Savvy: What else can you tell us about yourself?

Yvette: I graduated 1 ½ years early with a 4.0 GPA. I like to surf, water ski, scuba dive, and hiking with my 2 dogs. I'm crazy in love with them. I have a Yellow Lab and a Bordie Collie/Blue Heeler mix.

Savvy: How would you describe your personality?

Yvette: Honest... Impulsive... Outgoing... Loyal... Adventurous... and mysterious. I can be a little A.D.D. sometimes too.

Savvy: Have you always been outgoing?

Yvette: No, no. I was really shy as a kid.

Savvy: Are you religious?

Yvette: More spiritual than religious. I was brought up Catholic.

Savvy: Are there any causes you promote or you're involved with?

Yvette: Several animal rescue groups. One of my dreams is to have an animal sanctuary one day. I think they are the best thing on this planet.

Savvy: Well, thank you for your time. Tell Matthew and Gunnar we said hello.

Yvette: I will.
