See the photos...
They say "Seeing is Believing," but in the case of Lana Fink, she almost looks too good to be true.
Lana won the April 2004 edition of Savvy's "Is She Hot?" competition. When we first spoke with her, the half-Venezuelan beauty was employed by a well-known brokerage firm where the men in the office undoubtedly had trouble keeping their minds on their work. What she really wanted to do, we discovered, was hit the entertainment world.
Lana, now 25 years of age, still looks too good to be true. She hasn't modeled as much as she wanted to, but she plans to remedy that and start posing again, possibly full-time in Sunny Los Angeles...
Savvy: Tell us about yourself.
Lana: I live in a small town in Pennsylvania. I am half-Venezuelan and half-American.
Savvy: What traits have you gotten from your mom, who is Venezuelan?
Lana: All of it. Latin women have a heat about them.
Savvy: You ain't kidding.
Lana: Actually, all kidding aside. I am fortunate my parents raised me with a sense of morals. One thing I was taught was to treat someone how you want to be treated. This helps me show people I'm more than just a face, and if I don't look like "Lana" one day, it's okay. We are all human.
Savvy: Let's talk about your lighter side. Tell me a practical joke you've played on someone.
Lana: I once set off a stink bomb at a birthday party. It was sooo funny watching the waiters fanning the large trays to get the smell out. And my girlfriends and I went to the beach once and the whole way down there we probably flashed every single car we saw. Keep in mind, we are all naturally voluptuous. It was hilarious!
Savvy: Besides thrilling teenage boys trapped on boring family vacations, what's the wildest thing you've ever done?
Lana: I live 20 minutes from Washington, D.C. My friends and I went there. One friend brought chocolate whipped cream. Before you knew it, the whipped cream was all over us and the bouncers started stuffing $20s in our clothes.
Savvy: I guess it can get pretty wild in Washington, D.C., huh?
Lana: When you mix politics, people and partying, crazy things happen. Where did Monica Lewinsky put that cigar?
Savvy: Naughty naughty! When you party, do you drink beer or wine? Watch sports at all?
Lana: I drink beer. I love to go to basketball, football and hockey games.
Savvy: So how many photo shoots had you done before winning the "Is She Hot?" contest?
Lana: That was my first modeling shoot. I was kinda a virgin in modeling, and my friends pushed me to send in my pictures. I didn't expect to win, and I was very happy to see that people liked my look.
Savvy: What do you hope to do with this newfound celebrity?
Lana: I have always dreamed of modeling and acting, so I hope this allows me to enter the industry. Long-term, I would love to start my own company selling makeup, my own brand. I dream of having a ranch with a zoo in it! I love animals, and I want to be able to help sick or injured animals in my zoo. In five years, I would love to still be modeling and acting in movies.
Savvy: What was your Savvy photo shoot like?
Lana: I was so nervous that morning on the way to the location of the photo shoot. It was about an hour ride and I didn't say a word. When we arrived, I finally met everyone I had been speaking with over the phone and via email. I was so surprised; everyone was so easy to work with and very down to earth. I was expecting more "strictly business" people. After we sat and talked and more or less just hung out, I was a lot more comfortable. When it came down to business, we put on a little music, and I just moved with it.
Savvy: Sounds cool.
Lana: I was feeling the sensual rhythms of the music and I guess you could just say, tried to make love to the camera. The bedroom was the first scene. I think I liked the pool table the best. It was different. And I could do so much more with the way I played with the camera. I think I'm definitely hooked and I want more. It was an awesome experience.
Savvy: Cool. Are you comfortable posing for sexy photos?
Lana: As long as I am in a comfortable situation, I enjoy them. Ever since I could remember, I've been comfortable with my body, and I was always the one who was a little more risky than my other girlfriends. It's always been, "That's just Lana. If you can show it girl, show it!"
Savvy: What's the sexiest thing you've ever done?
Lana: Getting pierced downstairs.
Savvy: Do you live above a piercing shop?
Lana: (Laughs)
Savvy: Doh! I get it now. That's a pretty adventurous thing for a girl to do. I've read that it enhances sensations.
Lana: Sex is very important to me. If I don't have it for a few days, I'm going crazy and I get so moody. If you're in a long-time relationship, after a while it gets to be monotonous. Now sex... that can bring the spark back in a relationship real quick. You get out all of your inhibitions and can go crazy. It's like they say, "be a lady in the street but a freak in the bed"!
Savvy: Are you conservative or liberal when it comes to intimate relations?
Lana: I'm an independent.
Savvy: (Laughs) Third party, eh?
Lana: There are times when I want to make love, and times I just want great sex! So if something new happens during either... then yeah... I guess I am up to new things.
Savvy: What was the most romantic moment of your life so far?
Lana: The most romantic moment of my life would be the first time I told my boyfriend that I loved him. The most erotic moment of my life was later that night, but we won't go there.
Savvy: I suppose you go for wealthy guys with perfect looks.
Lana: No, not completely true. I mean, of course, I have to be attracted to a guy and most of the guys I'm attracted to are drop dead handsome. Mr. tall, dark and handsome. But they definitely don't have to be rich. I grew up with a family that did not have a lot so I have appreciated the little things in life. But if it is included in the package, well, then its included.
Savvy: What else describes your Mr. Tall, Dark & Handsome?
Lana: He noticeably goes to the gym, has a nice smile and a sense of style in his clothes. He needs to be taller than me and stronger than me. I definitely don't want to be the one who wears the pants in the relationship. The best quality in my book would be a sense of humor. If a guy doesn't know how to joke around, forget about it. I think a sense of humor is so sexy as long as it is not carried as far as being obnoxious. Then there are your usual qualities: understanding, sensitive, romantic, non jealous, etc.
Savvy: What line could he use at a crowded party to swivel your head?
Lana: "There are many beautiful girls here but you are, by far, the most gorgeous."
Savvy: He doesn't even have to lie to you.
Lana: Some men don't know what to say. The end up saying some corny one-liner or they overdo it and seem like creeps. The best, though, is if they don't even have the "cajones" to approach me. We make eye contact and flirty gestures but they never approach me. I say, take a chance. What's the worst that'll happen?
Savvy: Have you ever asked a guy out and been rejected?
Lana: I have asked guys out and been rejected, but most of the time, they look at me like they can't believe I'm hitting on them.
Savvy: Imagine that.
